Estate Principles Course:
- How do I register for the Principles course?
The Principles course is Open-Enrollment. Sign ups are available anytime
during the course.
- Live: Sign ups begin the day of class at 6:00 p.m.
or office appointments are available. For office appointments, please
contact the Career Development Department at 1-800-696-5305 or fill
out an online request form.
- Online: To register for the online course, click
here and select apply.
- What is the cost for the Principles course?
$229.00 the door with Check, Money Order, Visa, or MasterCard.
$169.00 for the online class.
- Are materials included?
Live: Yes! Students receive the newest edition of California Real
Estate Principles Text Book, Work Book, Power Test Program for Salespersons
CD-ROM, and Terms and Definitions CD-ROM with Wordbook.
Online: You will be given access to do everything online.
- When does the live Principles course begin?
Classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and finishes at 9:30 p.m.

- What days are the classes held?
Monday- Modesto

- What do I do when I finish the live Priciples Course?
You will need to take the Principles Exam. The exam is available
online, in class or in our office during office hours. You will be
given three hours to complete 100 multiple choice questions. The exam
is open book and open note. You must have a score of 60% or higher
to pass the class. If you take the exam online your results will be
available immediately; if not, your results will be available within
48 hours. You will receive your certificate in the mail within a week
after you pass the exam.
- How do I prepare for the state exam?
If you take the live classes, we have provided books and materials
as well as CDs for you to study. CDs include test program for salespersons
CD-ROM and terms and definitions Audio CD.
If you take the online class, you will have access to the online
Cram Course.
We also offer a 2 Day Live State Exam Prep Course. The course is
only $125.00! We have at least one available each weekend. It is advisable
to obtain your state exam date first and then schedule the 2 Day Live
State Exam Prep Course. The course offers an 85% chance of passing
the State Exam. The locations for the course are available in the
following cities: Fresno, Modesto, Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco
and Santa Rosa. The schedule the 2 Day Live Exam Prep Course call

Registering
for the State Exam:
- How do I register for the examination?
You will need the following:
1. Complete Salesperson's Examination Application Form, which is available
in class; and
2. a check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express payment
for the $25.00 examination fee, payable to Department of Real Estate.
3. Submit application and examination fee to instructor in class.
4. Career Development Department will mail application and examination
fee.
- Where are the examination given?
On the application, you will choose which between these cities to
take the exam: Sacramento, Fresno, Oakland, San Diego, and Los Angeles.
- When do I find out my examination date?
You will be informed of your examination date, time, and location
by mail approximately four to six weeks after you submit your application.
- How long will it take to get my examination results?
After you take the State Exam the results will be mailed within
five business days after the examination date. Also, exam results
are available online within three business days by visiting Department
of Real Estate, www.dre.ca.gov.
After
you pass
- What happens when I pass the exam?
The Department of Real Estate will mail you the License Application
Form. Once this form is complete you must submit it back to the Department
of Real Estate, then your Real Estate License will be issued.
- When do I start working in real estate?
Before you can work in Real Estate you must be employed with a Broker.
